CRAZY, CRAZY Day

Today was first day on my vacation and if the title of this post doesn't give it away then I am sure the rest will!

For the first time in an extremely long time, I got to sleep in and TIL 8:00 a.m!!! Woohoo!! So did not want to get out of bed, but managed to drag my butt out and look at the day ahead with a weary grin. Giddy up!!

I got to see my friend Char this morning for coffee and a long overdue visit. It was great. The kids, were so much fun and made me laugh. Their dog Sophie what a little gem. From there it was off to the park to meet up with other friends, but they were running late so I jetted off to my lunch date with new and old coworkers at Taste of Vietnam here in Sherwood Park! Yummy lunch with great company, then it was off to drop off birthday present for a girlfriends daughter that was LONG overdue. Then to see oldest son and then off to get eye brows done and then to drop off lacrosse gear. I think in between eye brows and lacrosse gear I managed a 40 minute break! Whew!

Amidst the chaos, I managed to sneak this pic of my friend Charmaine while we were at the park this morning. She was multi-tasking. lol!!

DAY 13 - Multi-tasking

Have a Happy Canada Day tomorrow.

I love a rainy night

There's nothing like the clash of the clouds and flicker of light bolt across the sky. There is something erotic about the energy that is emitted during a thunderstorm that makes me want to snuggle up with someone ;)

Unfortunately tonight, I missed probably one of the best lightning shows yet this summer as I was shopping...heee! Although I was unable to get shots of the wicked lightning that streaked across the sky, I was able to get a shot of the clouds above.

DAY 13

DAY 12

Seeing as I missed posting this yesterday, my little boys runners.

Happy Tuesday!

DAY 11

I never thought I'd see the day, when I would have NO pets in the house. Well I have another 17 and 12 years til the "hairless" ones leave but for those of the hairy nature, I am without.

My very first "hairy" baby, was a fuzzy little ball of fur and claws. His name was sox. He was too darn cute for words even when he'd run from the other end of the hall and climb up your bare legs, he was still pretty darn cute.

Then Regan came along and I wasn't sure how Sox would handle having a hairless pet around. But to my amazement they were best buds from the day Regan came home from the hospital and let out his first cry. Sox all in a panic come screeching from the kitchen up on the couch, sniffed the baby, looked at me like "Do something!" and then head bonked him and the bond took hold that very moment.

Regan and Sox were buddies at heart. Sox tolerated the torment of whisker pulling, hair pulling, sitting on and the odd WWE knocked down. He loved him just the same.

Then came the other. I thought for sure Sox was gonna lose all of his hair. He wasn't quite sure of his new hairless pet, cause it squeaked more than the other one. But none the less, he attached himself to Carter as he did Regan. Any cry, there he was there waiting ever so patiently for me to come and quiet the child.

Sox endured more whisker pulling, tail pulling, nose pushing, and the odd ear cleaning with the qtip. He was content to sit there while he was being tormented. When he had enough he would simply get up and leave, never harming either of the boys.

He was the best pet anyone could ask for. Today was a sad day as we sent him with my mom to the farm as we could no longer have him with us.

The boys didn't seem to mind, but for this mama, I was letting my first "hairy" baby leave the nest and it wasn't what I expected. Red puffy eyes and lots of Kleenex. So in 12 years when the first hairless baby does leave the next, I am sure the same feeling will come flooding back.

Enjoy chasing gophers and mice Sox! Enjoy photo 11 to our best friend Sox

Happy Sunday!

Follow up to yesterday

After I posted my photo of Carter, my neighbour back home, suggested changing it to B&W. So I thought what the heck. Here he is...I used a filtered B&W

DAY 8
Is a continuation of the shoot from yesterday. Carter loves his spaghetti and his In the Night Garden. I shot the photo using the AV function and I edited the picture using a filtered B&W and softened it with a soft focus giving it a more subtle look.

DAY 7 (Only a day late)

So I thought I'd give the old AV function a whirl and this is what I came up with. Need a bit more practice. But not bad for a rookie. ;)

Have a great evening!

So far behind

Who knew that doing a Challenge would be just that...A CHALLENGE! Taking the photos isn't the problem, it's getting them up and on the blog and on Facebook for all to see. So with that, here are the photos from the last 5 days.

DAY 6 - Grubby little fingers

Yogurt is so much fun to play with. Especially when you can squeeze it through your fingers, smear all over and then rub it in your hair like shampoo...OIY!! Meal times with Carter is never a dull moment.

DAY 5 - Kisses for Kitty

Carter and our cat Sox are the best of buds. Sox tolerates so much of the tormet Carter bestows upon him. Like cleaning his ears with q-tips, sitting on him, pulling his whiskers, so to actually see him show the "love" is nice to see.

DAY 4 - Tick, tick, tick - KA-BOOM!

As you can see, we have quite the array of colors of baseball bags on our team. Everything from Purple to Pink, Red to Orange and of course black - But where's the fun in that.

DAY 3 - Foxy Knoxy

Knox (aka Krista) is one of my bestest friends that I've had since I moved here 6 years ago. She got the nickname Knox cause she is one of the few female players that can hit the ball just as far as the guys.

DAY 2 - Watchful Silence

This is one of my favourite shots. Watching the play from the other side of the fence and watching it unfold. I caught Miss Hayley before she managed to catch me snap this photo of her. Hehehe!!
